Michael Jackson was one of the most successful recording artists of all time.

He was twice inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, 1

3 of his songs hit No. 1 and he won 13 Grammy Awards.

He was lauded and ridiculed. He broke down barriers and built them around himself. He soared to heights unimaginable with his music, and he made the ignominious front page of gutter tabloids worldwide. For Michael Jackson, the spotlight was always present, and the rest of the world followed. From the time he was a child, it was obvious Michael Jackson was something special. He and his brothers shot to stardom as the Jackson 5 in the 1970s. But it was in the 1980s, when Jackson became a worldwide phenomenon, that his impact really began to be felt. Pop music went into a Jackson era. From the elegant ballads to the down-and-dirty grooves and ecstatic dance hits, he dominated the music world. "Billie Jean," "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin,'" "Bad," "Man in the Mirror," "Beat It," "P.Y.T." His album "Thriller" had nine songs; seven of them became hit singles. He became much imitated, from his hair to his clothes to his dance moves. Jackson was also a fashion icon, his heavily zippered leather jackets a de rigueur 1980s fashion accessory, his single, spangled glove beyond compare. Then rumors began, from his pets to his sleeping habits to his cosmetic surgery. Add to that child-abuse allegations and financial troubles, all fodder for the press. He was treated as a traveling circus. But he kept many fans. His death at age 50 prompted many of them to pour out their grief through music and dance, impromptu shrines at symbolic locations and heartfelt remembrances. "This is a very sad day," sobbed CNN iReporter Melissa Fazli. A fan outside Grauman's Chinese Theater in California called Jackson an innovator. "He's basically an icon in his own time -- legendary ... I'm still mourning, and at the same time missing him. It's a little bit much to bear."

HAPPY DAYS
The carefree childhood of yesteryear may well be a thing of the past

FREEDOM, a rare commodity these days, is gradually being robbed from us in the most subtle ways. In an ironic twist of modernisation, we have more dangers and diseases to contend with. I cannot help but make comparisons with the days of yesteryear.

My schooldays were reminiscent of priceless freedom when I cycled to my hockey games with a hockey stick balanced across the handlebars of my bicycle. My parents never had to worry about insane drivers or about their precious daughter being kidnapped.

Schoolgirls back then had sun-kissed complexion and never worried about UV rays while indulging in a game of rounders until the moon peeped over the sunset. The only Sun Tan we knew was a character in a comic strip.

We quenched our thirst between games at the tap nearest to our field or court, and drank straight from it. Fluoride was good for our teeth then. We never heard of reverse osmosis or mineral water.

We happily sucked on shaved ice shaped into balls with generous dollops of syrup, as we tossed them from one palm to another and walked 3km home from school. Ice was ice, and not some designer drug.

day trip 2 gopeng with the rest of the camp committee ie pauline, yeam chong, jennifer, john, ann nee, kay yi, vince 2 visit camp site...harvest haven
great place...secluded....quiet....nature...great for a church camp
had lunch @ lawan kuda, a small town near harvest haven...the restaurant which will b our camp caterer....we had fish, pork, veg, yong tau fu, steamed egg....delicious

saturday, today, went 2 klia airport 2 meet michael, vince's cousin from usa 2 take his luggage home as he continued his journey 2 cambodia with vince's brother, benny...

coming saturday will b our church camp @ golden sands baptist resort, port dickson...again...same venue as last year's

dunno wat happend 2 dis blog...so much blank space @ d bottom...tried 2 delete it but not working...

bz 4 d last few days...ron ron was sick...hi fever & a bad throat....she was crying d whole day for 4 days oledi....dont wanna drink milk....dont wanna drink water....dont wanna eat....she's so skinny & weak....
but she did eat her medicine coz we told her dat it will cure her pain...then she "kuai-kuai" eat lor....from there she drank teeny weeny bit of water....
so heartache 2 c her in dis condition...
why am i still awake ah??? oh i know .... must b d coffee i drank @ midnite...
i tink i better catch some sleep b4 ron wakes up & cry AGAIN....
and oso i have 2 go 2 d market @ 8am in d morning....a WEEKLY AFFAIR...

So many dayz didnt blog....

Actually, i m bz & lazy....heh heh...

Started FUTSAL last Wednesday...yes FUTSAL...all girls team....wah never knew d game is so tiring....have 2 use up all my energy..."pancit"....so, the girsl @ work formed a team...inspired by the movie "gol & gincu".....thank God we have a coach 2 show us the rules of d game...

Went to NILAI 3 yesterday....about 1 hour's drive from KL....it's like a cowboy town but selling lots & lots of stuff...and CHEAP too....u can find textiles eg cloths 4 baju kurung, curtains...imported ceramic stuffs very nice & cheap too....carpets.....teak-wood furniture....etc etc

got 2 go...laptop no battery oredi

today went 2 watch 'die hard 4' & 'surf's up' # gsc 1-u...
'die hard 4' is real good...love the storyline..
'surfs up' is so so only...not wat i expected lor...not as hilarious as other cartoons...in fact i ter-tidur..ha ha...

Drove back 2 malacca on friday afternoon coz mom got check-up on sat morning...
As usual when i m back @ malacca...i will turn into a pig..oink oink..

Friday...reached malacca @ 530pm
evening : popiah with lard (chi yau char)...fried bee-hoon...'tong-sui' (far sang chock)...'yau char kwai'...'chwee ker' (hokkien)...nite : 'mi-suah' with chinese wine...slurp! slurp!...went to Tranquerah 4 my fav putu piring but tak jual...hai ya..dissapointed

Saturday...
Picked-up grandpa & took him 4 lunch & 2 spend d week-end with us
lunch : hailam chicken rice & duck mee
drove all d way to PD...yes, port dickson with mom, 5th aunty, vanessa & alicia for our hair-do...crazy people..hee hee
dinner : yam rice with pork herbal soup...drove to Tranquerah again 4 d putu piring...tak jual again....so dissapointed BUT we detour to jonker walk..jalan-jalan & bot some nice fridge magnets

Sunday...
lunch : went 2 ta-pau mee rebus & ketupat @ ujong pasir...d shop opposite the road leading to portuguese settlement...good...yum yum
Went to buy some nonya chang too...
Dropped grandpa...drove back to KL...reached home @ 9pm

Oh ya!!! ate lots of durians too from d tree @ grandma's....good quality durians...yum yum!!

P/S : 1230am now....as usual, ron is still awake!!!!!

5 minutes to 12am...

hav been bz this past week...
mom was hospitalized & undergone surgery 4 appendicitis...
rushed back 2 malacca...stayed for 3 days until mom was discharged...
brot mom back 2 kl so dat d maid could care 4 her...
she's ok now but could not carry heavy stuff for 3 months...
got dis little time 2 write....as i m now waiting 4 princess ron-ron 2 go 2 bed...
as usual she's d late bird...d latest in d house 2 go 2 bed...
as usual she drives me crazy...veli active till now...@ dis hour...still walking around...still climbing up & down like a monkey & @ d same time watching sesame street...arrrgggghhhhh!!!!!
000000....my eyes r closing now....& dat princess is still wide awake...
i tink i will go & lie down now & close my eyes...cannot tahan oledi...

hey..i m a grandaunt now...vincent's niece, fiona delivered a baby girl few days ago...janelle

this makes nes & ron aunties...hah hah hah aunty vanessa & aunty veronica

brought vanessa to her junior music course (jmc) exam today...she was so nervous

she gotta sing 1 song (solo) and play 3 songs solo on the piano

i craving 4 "lat chiu pan min" hee hee...slurp slurp

aiyo..already 1++ am...ron is still wide AWAKE!!!! watching higgly town heroes now!!! arrrrggghhhh!!!! i gotta go church tomolo...sure sleepy @ church...*lord, please help me, i need ron to sleep NOW*

1135pm...

it has been 3 days since i last wrote

slept early these few days...cannot tahan...vely sleepy & tired...dunno why

well nothing much these past few days..go 2 work & go home...BORING...

but heh...yesterday went 2 hard rock cafe 4 lunch with my fren ross...took d set lunch...cheap, good & big portion...RM25++ got soup or salad...grilled fish or beef strogonoff...mango or choc cake 4 dessert...coffee/tea/ice lemon tea/soft drinks....worth or not??....the main course portion was big...i can't finish my fish

my eyes are closing now......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
